Neighbourhood Development Plan Working Party
Neighbourhood planning was introduced through the Localism Act 2011. The Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 set out the procedures for preparation of a Neighbourhood Development Plan and requires such plans to be in general conformity with the strategic policies of the adopted Local Plan for their area, it must also conform to the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF).
Melbourne Parish Council made the decision to formulate a Neighbourhood Development Plan and the formulation of any Neighbourhood Development Plan is a lengthy process, which could take more than 2 years to complete. As the process is lengthy and requires a significant amount of consultation and gathering of information, the Parish Council has established a Working Party under the chairmanship of Cllr Jane Carroll.
