Melbourne Parish Council is holding its fourth Remembrance Tree event from 3rd December to 20th December.  This will be held in the Chapel at the Packhorse Road Cemetery between 9am and 4pm on Mondays to Thursday and between 9am and 12pm on Fridays.  This year the Chapel will be open on Saturday and Sunday mornings between 9am and 11.30am.

This remembrance event provides an opportunity to remember loved ones and absent friends by dedicating a message on our tree of remembrance. Remembering people who have died is a natural response to an experience of bereavement. Memories can make us smile or leave us with sadness. All these memories are important.

On our Remembrance Tree, people will be able to place tags or photographs to remember occasions in their own lives, or the lives of others past and present. Those who have lost loved ones can come into the Chapel and place a memorial card on our Christmas tree with their own message of remembrance.    The message placed on the Remembrance Tree can be open for others to see, or sealed for personal private thoughts.  All memories will be retained for a year.

Anyone is welcome and our staff will be on hand to assist you if you require.  There is no fee, but if any donations are received, they will go towards the refurbishment of the chapel.

There will be posters around the village advertising many specific events over the Festive period, but do come along and support our Remembrance Tree and those who have participated by leaving their memories and dedications.

We look forward to seeing you.
